Jenny Koelbel Artist Biography

Jenny Koelbel was born in the small southern town of Houma, Louisiana in 1973. After high school, Jenny felt the need to see the world and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She married her German husband in 1999. They lived in the small town of Husum on the Northsee of Germany and began raising a family. In the summer of 2005, they returned to New Orleans where Jenny began her studies at the University of New Olreans. Although Hurricane Katrina had devestated what was home to her, Jenny stayed with the University and continued her studies on-line. In the spring of 2006 the campus was partially reopened and art classes were being offered again, so Jenny chose to focus on painting and continued relentlessly until May 2008 when she recieved her Bachelor of Arts.
Since graduation, Jenny has pushed to reveal several business ventures. Flip4art.com features her vibrant acrylic paintings of Mardi Gras Beads that are becoming well known art in New Orleans. These wonderful acrylic paintings can be found at many local festivals or art markets. Check schedule of showings for more information.
JennyKoelbel.com is Jenny's latest and most sophisticated presentation of acrylic and oil paintings as well as exceptional Prismacolor drawings. On this site, you can view many of Jenny Koelbel's Fine Art pieces that lead the viewer to create his own narrative by connecting human images with patterns and texture.
Also on JennyKoelbel.com, is a new line of images being specifically created for Art Licensing. Through Art Licensing, Jenny will be able to present these wonderful Prismacolor faces called Frech Faces to a much broader audience. Visit JennyKoelbel.com for more information.
The future is wide and bright for Jenny and she is excited about the potential of reaching out to galleries worldwide. She is planning on relocating to Husum, Germany in the summer of 2009 where she will continue to paint while studying for her Masters of Fine Art in Kiel, Germany. Her contacts with New Orleans are solid and she will still have a tight grip on her business interests located in New Orleans, traveling between countries a few times a year.
